  Although we place birds into loving homes at no cost. A bird is a large investment usually for a lifetime or more. You WILL have the cost of an appropriate cage if the bird doesn't come with one, toys, food, treats & vet care. There are other expenses you may incur as well. Such as repairs to your home, or furniture replacement (parrots can be very destructive), vitamins, playstands, an outdoor aviary maybe? When filling out your application please be sure that you will be able to afford all necessities that the bird will need immediately.

    We don't charge an adoption fee. We feel that the it is a mistaken belief that if you can't afford an adoption fee you can't afford a bird. We feel this statement is ridiculous due to the fact that anyone can save up the amount for an adoption fee, it still doesn't mean that person can afford a bird.    Someone who can easily afford an adoption fee may see the bird as just another new toy until they get tired of it . A very wealthy person may still not take proper care of a bird.  While a  person with less money may scrimp to make sure that same bird would receive excellent care. We don't feel that money really has anything to do with how well a pet is taken care of .(within reason of course.)

   We screen the recipients of our birds very carefully to make sure they go into the best homes possible. The birds we adopt out must remain in the physical possession of the adopter and never be sold, traded, or otherwise rehomed as stated in the adoption agreement. The birds we adopt out can also never be bred. Breeding is grounds for immediate removal of a bird from adopters home.
